Creating cemetery micro FM broadcasting stations

First and foremost: Is this legal?

Short answer is generally yes in the US as long as the device conforms to the FCC Part 15 for Radio Frequency Devices - https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-47/chapter-I/subchapter-A/part-15

Longer answer is it depends on federal as well as your local laws and regulations. Please consult experts and/or lawyers in your local area that practice and are knowledgeable in this subject matter as I'm not in any way an expert or knowledgeable when it comes to your regional or local laws and regulations

To create cemetery radio you will need a way to play, transmit the stories over the air and way to power it all. For example, you can order a mp3 player as well as a transmitter from many online suppliers and set it up in the main office to transmit on an unused frequency an off you go.

Consider the size of your cemetery, can a single transmitter cover the area without running afoul of
FCC Part 15?  Is it large enough that you'd have to create zones, if so would they run duplicates of the broadcast or have different programming or stories?

Would you want it to run 24/7, or just during cemetery visiting hours?

What would your stories entail? Cemetery history and information or stories of the people in the cemetery? What other ideas and stories can you think of?

Once you have a media play and FM Transmitter you can find unused/vacant frequencies for the US here: https://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/vacant and here: https://elecurls.tripod.com/fm-free.htm for example. Search online for vacant frequencies in your local area

Good luck and share your stories, in the future I'd like to share where and how people can listen in!
